I'm guessing we never got a confirmation on that.
I am having a very similiar problem which I have tried to get help for here.
Indeed I do have my portal alias set up as http://localhost/dotnetnuke and going into that is all fine for one and only one computer. I have added another portal with the alias http://{myServerNameHere}/dotnetnuke and when i try to access it I get "this page cannot be found".

Now I am stuck because if I change the existing portal, stuff may stop working for that one that it does work on. If I don't...well, any idea?

I'm guessing that you have the portal alias setup as http://localhost/dotnetnuke. you should have it setup as http://servername/dotnetnuke or http://www.yourcompanyname.com/dotnetnuke.

You can change this by logging in as host and going to "portals" on the host menu. Select the portal and at the bottom you should be able to add a new HTTP Alias.

please correct me if I am wrong DotNetNuke team.

THank you very much...solve my problem
