i just got dnn installed and running on my godaddy hosting and i am quite happy with it so far, except that no one but admin can post in the forums.  there were/are no errors displayed to give an indication that something wasn't installed correctly.  furthermore, only the admin has access to "my settings" and "my posts" in the forums.  how can i fix this?

[edit] nevermind!  i just realized that i had to change the permissions so that everyone could edit the module.  originally i thought that meant giving everyone the ability to change it like an admin can.  but i guess not.  :)

I have the same issue

I had the same problem then I set the forum permissions (Not the page permissions) so that registered users are able edit module. That fixed the problem of not being able to post or creates new threads for registered users but now when a registered user places his/her mouse over the module title for the forum it highlights and then any registered user can change the text in it to say anything. I am also having the same problem with the blog module for registered users to create a blog.
