Hi,

I've been asked to implement a Wiki-style knowledge base on my companies Intranet but have a requirement that it allow users to upload files as attachments. Are there any plans to include this feature in this Wiki module in the future?

Pat

I can't say we've talked about this, but that's not to say it can't be a future enhancement.

Would uploading items inline with the FCK editor not suffice?

Thanks, i didn't realise FCK had the ability to upload files to the server with the Insert Link functionality. The users who would be updating the wiki don't have "upload file" rights in FCK so i will have to look at how to enable this.

Hi, Chris,

Would you tell the details how to upload files to Wiki with the FCK editor?

Thanks

Daniel

  •  you need to grant write permission to the editor role for the upload folder in Admin :: FileManager (at the bottom for the folder selected above).
  • enter your WIKI page, edit
  • click "insert Link" button
  • select "browse Server"
  • switch to "file on your site"
  • select upload directory
  • use "upload file" button
  • browse for your local file and hit upload
  • apply the link selection
  • save your page.
