Hi Sebastian

Thanks for your input! :)

If there is a problem with the database, it is probably related to as specific table/part since all other funktions in the dnn installation works as they are supposed to.

Then I first need to detect what can be wrong in the database and then it is hopfulle possible to correct it.

Have you any knowledge or idea of what I could to?

Best regards
Peter

Hi again Sebastian,

regarding that nothing is updated or saved when I click "Save resource File", if the "time out" that ocurrs is cause by something in the database: I thought that the text was only written to the files, but is does something also needed from the database?

The other problem, which is probably linked is that the tree view which is supposed to expose all resource filese from the desktopmodules folder.

Peter, you are right, did you make sure, the winodws account used by ASP.Net (set in IIS Application Pool) has write permission for all subfolders of your DNN installation?

Sebastian, now I have checked again. The networkservice account has the full permissions in the dnn-folder with subfolders and files!  Iactually forced the settings once again to be sure. Unfortunately it did not help :(

I have also seen one more thing:

If I open the language editor for for example GlobalResources.resx it is as I wrote befor not possible to get anything saved when clicking "Save Resouce File". this onle gives me the time ot message which I showed you before.

In the language editor there is also the possability to edit only one value in an editor and the save this specific value. If I do that the changed value is actually saved in the resource file! Then it is probably be somthing else than permisstions beeing wrong.

What can then be the cause behind the fact that the language editor not can save changes to a resource file, nor open the tree for displaying resource files (nodes in the tree to the left in the Language Editor).

I am not familiar with code behind the "Save Resource File" and the expanding of the tree.

/Peter

Peter, I haven't used Language Editor in DNN 6 yet, but need to do so during the next day and observer the behaviour.
