Admin > Languages: if you have multiple languages installed (being listed beneath in the grid) there should be a dropdown box near the top of the module, to select portal default language. This applies for DNN 6.1.0 and above.

 I'm unable to get the upload image function to work in this forum - so please take a look at this:

There is no drop down box.

you are using Content Localization for your website. When enabling this feature, you get displayed a warning that you cannot modify default language afterwards.

 Ok now I'm confused.

Yes I want my content localized. So wouldnt it seem natural that I would also want to have control over what the default localized site is?

Anyway, there must be away to do this. 'Cannot' isnt a helpful answer. Do I need to change something in the database?

It is a known limitation that you have to choose default language prior to enabling Content Localization for your website. You may change default culture in portals table in the database, but this might confuse localization workflow and you may get confrontated with a number of unexpected results in localization settings of a number of pages.
