Hi Cathal,

I just thought I'd follow up on this... do you happen to know if DNN will include some kind of tab-specific localization in 7.1? It would be awesome if there was just a way to pick what the default language should be for a specific tab as one of the normal tab settings. I feel like for a lot of "minor" localization projects, that'd be really helpful.

Thanks,

Mike

AFAIK this is coming in 7.1.0 with other localization enhancements (and we've integrated a community contributed module that helps greatly)

Awesome - thank you very much for the vast reply and thanks to you and the team for all the good work!

I've played around a bit with 7.1 and I think it really looks great - can't wait to see the next release.

Hope all's well,

Mike

Hello again,

Do you happen to know if this stuff is in the Beta? I've been playing around with it and didn't see anything... but I thought I'd check in case I'm just doing something dumb here.

Hope all's well,

Mike

Sorry - I've been playing around some more and I think I found it - very cool. So, here's what I'm seeing:

You have to enable localization for the whole site but, now, you don't have to have DNN automatically make duplicates of every page. Instead, you can choose specific pages and then manage their different versions in the content localization tab in the languages area.

That's not what I was expecting, so that's why I missed it - but, it all makes sense here... this looks very cool and very easy to manage... So thanks to the team - great job!

Thanks,

Mike
