AFAIK, contentItems are not needed, you may delete those connected with the pages you want to delete.
you might need to delete pages manually, based on language stored in each record in tabs table.

I think this may work. One other issue that i an facing with the languages is that now when I select a language from the drop down list it doesn't load the the other language, It stays in the english pages. So if I am in english page and I select the es-Mx page it reloads the page but still in the en-us pages. If i enter in the es-Mx in the address, it goes to the page.

is your skin using DNN language selector?
Did you make sure, there is a primary website alias for each language in Admin > Site Settings (and you enabled redirect)?

Yes, the selector was working once before.
There wasnt an alias there for the language so I added it.
140.239.195.152/ex-mx
I tested it and its still not switching to the es-MX pages.
Where is the enabled redirect.
