1. DNN tries to read browser settings for lot logged in users, if the first locale set in browser is found as active language for the portal, this language gets displayed, otherwise the portal default language is displayed

Actually all preferred languages as set in the browser are looked at before resorting to the portal default language. So if a visitor has these language preferences in his broser: de-DE and en-US, and you have a portal with these 3 enabled languages: fr-FR, es-ES and en-US, and the portal default is fr-FR, the selected language will be en-US, because it is available both in the user preferred languages and in the portal enabled languages.

To me it seems rather silly to force a portal to open into a certain language, if you offer multiple languages. If i visit a french portal that also offers english, i very much like the portal to open up in english instead of french upon my first visit. IMHO, multilingual portals also need some level of understanding with the client, and the consultant advising the client....

Are u sure English can be disabled?
When i try to do that i get message that the primary
language can't be disabled.

But usually the dynamic content is in spcific language.
What the point to present menu in English when the articles
are in hebrew?

Johnny,

you need to switch the default language for the portal first, and please note: disable does NOT mean delete!

IMO Erik is talking about true mulitlingual portals with ML content, using e.g. his ML modules.
