Hi Sebastian,

Sorry for my English. I have now asked my colleague to help me
rewriting my issue again (with some better English) hoping that it
will be clearer to you or to other forum members.

MAIN ISSUE: To make the DNN’s “Event module” to show "DD/MM/YYYY" date
format (i.e. for it use in countries like India, Australia etc).

I tried installing the English (AUS) language but got the below 3 issues:

1. Different areas (like settings etc) showed text in mix of both CAPS
and no-capital letter given an impression of "BUGGY" lang. pack

2.  ERROR:
--------------------------------------------------
A critical error has occurred.
Conversion from string "17/11/2009" to type 'Date' is not valid.

--------------------------------------------------

Above error comes on that page having event module on it, for those
users who have not yet changed their "Preferred Locale" from US to
English(AU) in their USER PROFILE.

3.
and also, in the resource verifier link of language page when I
clicked to verify language it gave me a message of missing resource
files:  429

On a separate note, some one suggested me to use the third party to
solve the issue of BUGGY language packs of DNN as below:

Can I get some help to make the EVENT module work in the date format
of "DD/MM/YYYY"?

Thanks in advance..............NY

I suggest:

- uninstall en.AU language packs, make sure all files are removed

- ADD language "English Australia" (DNN5: fallback: English (US) and enable it for your site

- make English (AU) default in site settings and disable English (US)

This should solve issues 1. and 3.

Regarding 2. please post in Events forum, if the error persits.

Thank you Sebastian, your suggestions regarding issues 1 and 3 are indeed correct.

Dear Narayan Yadav, you have downloaded a Free "ALL CAPS" language pack for DNN v4.6.2, from DNNEnglish.com. This explains the reason why you see some text resources in ALL CAPS and some other in normal caps. You see, there are significant changes since DNN v4.x.x (and more since 4.6.2) up to DNN v5.x.x:

a) Over 40% of the text resources the Language Pack you've downloaded do not correspond to DNN v5.x.x. Those are the text resources you see in "normal caps".

b) The text resources that do match are all capitalized (ALL CAPS). It is not a buggy version, it is kind of a Trial Version of a language pack. And for an old DNN version.

I would like to help you solve your issue, so if it's OK with you, let's keep in touch through DNNEnglish.com. I have just sent you an email, if it does not reach you, please contact me through our site's Contact Page.

Alejandro.

Thanks for the response. I just missed one thing in your reply.
How do I disable "English (US)" so that it does not appear at
different places (like drop down of new blog page etc) in DNN for user
to select?
