Log in as Host and look under Host->Host Settings and then expand the Authentication Settings. That's where you install the AD (and any other) provider.

Hi,

I used DNN 4.7 and AD 1.00.03.

So, AD does work in our portal but if a user hit http://gsl-145/TIBS/Default.aspx, the user is not automatically logged in. To be able to manually log in, you have to click on this link. .../WindowsSignin.aspx page. I used the Active directory Provider User's guide to setup the portal.

I can't figure out if I'm missing something. Please help.

Eric

Eric, two things to check. Make sure the second instance of <add name=Authentication..../> in the <httpModules> section of your web.config is uncommented. Also you may have to clear the cookies/cache on the system before it'll work. If the cookie hasn't expired it'll tend to bypass the authentication call.

Tkx Mike.

I checked the web.config file and clear the cache and the problem still persist. It looks to me that the active directory handlers do not fire when a page different then the the WindowSignin.aspx is called.

Hi,

Just to clarify the situation, AD works only if the user click on the WindowsSignin.aspx page. After, the user can browse the all portal. The user is not automatically logged in if the first page hit is http://GSL-145/TIBS/Default.aspx. So, the problem is the AD handlers are not firing up on every page.

I dropped the AD.dll into Reflector. I noticed a method called OnAuthenticateRequest method. To me it looks like this event is not fire at all if the user hit another page then WindowsSignIn.aspx page.
