Thanks Mike.

On the off chance that it's related, the versions of the other authentication systems I'm running (LiveID and OpenID) are 01.00.00.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the next point release.

Carl.

If you look in the Packages table you'll be able to verify the AD provider version but I'm sure you're running .03 of the AD provider. DNN 4.8.2 won't run properly with the 01.00.00 version of the AD provider (it won't even launch properly).

I've checked this table many times as I was previously running 01.00.03 but unloaded it before loading 01.00.04.

select packageid, name, version from dnn_packages

packageid name version
2 DNN_LiveIDAuthentication 01.00.00
3 DNN_OpenIDAuthentication 01.00.00
4 DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication 01.00.04

Hi Mike,

I've tried the new beta, and it's had no effect. I still get the incorrect user details when the user is created, and the roles still do not synchronise.  There are still no events generated, apart from the successful login events.  I ensured that the DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.dll is the updated version (1.0.4.35145).

At this point, I'm wondering if I can get hold of the source for the authentication DLL so I can trace the problem at runtime in my environment (I am a senior developer).  If you don't feel comfortable with that, we may have to go the route of you adding some logging to your code so we can slowly trace where things are going wrong.

I've tried using reflector over the authentication DLL to have a look and I can't see anything wrong with the code.  The only question I have is whether the user's ADGroups are being picked up correctly in UserController.AddUserRoles (if you could output these to the event log I think we'll find there's nothing coming through to compare against current.RoleName).  Either that, or it's a case of the role names being the wrong case so the contains comparison fails.

I'm starting to get worried whether this will be fixed in time for my project.  I've got 5 weeks before my go-live and the single signon is a crucial part of it.

Cheers,

Carl.
