i am not able to find the DNN version.. but i asked my network admin for active directory version(2008), actually i am an trainee working on dotnetnuke, so i am not aware fully about dotnetnuke

If you log in with Host credentials for the DNN portal and look under Host->Host Settings you'll see the DNN version near the top.

The AD provider version that I'm looking for is the for the provider that's installed on DNN not what server OS you're running your AD on (but I should be able to figure that out by the DNN version).

DotNetNuke Version: The DotNetNuke application version you are running	04.08.04
Check For Upgrades? Select this option if you would like the application to check if there are upgrades available.
Upgrade Available? Displays an icon if a new version of the application is available
Data Provider: The provider name which is identified as the default data provider in the web.config file	SqlDataProvider
.NET Framework: The .NET Framework version which the application is running on - specified through IIS	2.0.50727.42
ASP.NET Identity: The Windows user account under which the application is running. This is the account which needs to be granted folder permissions on the server.	NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE
Host Name: The Host Name of the site.	testserver
Permissions: The code access permissions available in the hosting environment.	ReflectionPermission, WebPermission

Indicates whether the site is running in a web farm configuration. This setting can be enabled in the root configuration file for your site.

dnn version is 04.08.04... i don know why the user is not able to log for the first time itself.... so kindly do the needfull..

Ahh okay now we're good. I'm surprised you're not seeing any error messages if it's what I'm thinking it is.

I'm going to suggest you try the .04 beta of the AD provider (http://dnn.gmss.org) and see if that fixes the problem. *NOTE: Make sure you backup your website and your database in case you have to restore your site. It's just good practice before doing any updates.
