Hey Mike,

i went ahead and installed the windows authentication module and it is working just fine. The only problem i am facing is for people that are in multiple roles in the AD. The website had been made such that people in a role can see a particular page only. but if you are in multiple roles, multiple pages would be visible. Looks like the AD module gets the 1st role-group match, adds the user to that role (in DNN) and ignores the other groups. A work around is to then go to the user list and add the other roles to the user's profile, thus giving him access to the other pages, but that is too cumbersome for the number of users and some might argue that the roles are really not being read correctly in that sense. I have made sure that the role names in DNN are exactly what they are in AD. Is there something I can do to make sure that the user gets added to all the roles instead of just one?

Thanks!

Pi.

Pi, what you should be seeing with the provider is that it adds to all roles that the user belongs to. What version of DNN are you running and what version of the provider? Also, how many roles are we talking about here? 10, 50, 100?

3 roles. The DotNetNuke version is 04.09.02. The authentication provider is 01.00.05.

They should be getting added to the roles then. When you created the roles in DNN did you use the Pre-Windows 2000 group name (if you look at an AD groups properties there's a Pre-Windows 2000 group name).

Hi, could you please let me know where you got authentication provider is 01.00.05 from. Im new to DNN and im looking at a DNN site that somone else has done, does it come as part of the install? I found a guidance document on this site which mentions the AD provider zip file - do you know where this is / how to get it.  Any help would be appreciated.
