 I am having this exact same problem. I've done a clean install of DNN 5.1.1, but when I go to install the ActiveDirectory_05.00.02_Install.zip that I have been given, I get the same error

Failure Install aborted - The package being installed requires more permissions than are currently available in your environment. Permission required - AspNetHostingPermission

I've been looking around for answers but nothing I've tried seems to be working. I have tried running the web site with its own appPool with either Local System or Network Service  identity. I've also tried setting the trust level to full on both intranet and internet. I've made sure to give full read/write windows rights to the Network Service user (it's a windows server 2003 with iis6) and also to the ASPNET user just for good measure.

I'm fairly new to DNN, so it's very likely that I'm doing something incorrect. If anyone has any further suggestions I would be very greatfull.

 When you gave the read/write permissions to Network Service did you check the box that then forces the permissions on all sub folders?

  Yes. A quick check of various sub folders confirms that Network Service has full control throughout the entire hierarchy of my DotNetNuke folder.

I'm not sure what to say Matt. I've never run into this error so I can't say what needs to be done to fix it. Hopefully someone else who has had it will chime in.

 I've solved the same problem by setting .NET Trust Level to "Full (Internal)" on IIS 7.0. IIS changed the following attribute in web.config to "Full" :

    <trust level="Full" originUrl=".*" />

Hope this help

Marcelo.
