Unfortunately i've to use IIS popup only. If the user types wrong password or cancel the popup page errors out. Only if the user enters valid credentials, they can see the site. So the authentication is working fine. However i've a doubt whether the popup is thrown by IIS or windows network? Will there be two levels of authentication? Will the entry point into the N/W authenticate the user and forward the request to the internal server where the user has to be authenictated again?

Could you please elaborate on your first idea?Correct me if i'm wrong. I'll enable forms authentication, enable active directory authentication, enable dnn authentication. In IIS what should i do - shd i enable forms as well as windows or just forms?

The popup is generated for the Windows network by IIS when it tries to process the credentials on the user's computer and can't (because they're not on the domain). It then generates the popup to give the user a way to enter their domain credentials.

As for what to do with IIS..... You'd use forms throughout the site except on WindowsSignin.aspx. Then you'd want to set that page only up for Windows Authentication. This is explained in the documentation.
