We have a goal of setting up login to use our Active Directory.  I’ve set up DNN on Windows 2008 R2.  I go to the main site http://localhost/login.aspx and get the option Standard and Windows Login.  If I try to run Windows Login, I would expect to have my AD credentials to work. It doesn’t.  If I try to connect to a local account using the Standard login button, and then go under Admin à Extensions à Authentication System  à DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication and then test the Authentication settings using the same AD credentials, it works.  So what could be the problem?

When you did the settings did you enter your domain name in the Default Domain section? If you didn't then when you went to login did you enter your username as Domain\Username? Also, how long is your password? By default DNN expects 7 characters so if your domain password is shorter than that it'll fail on the login.

I didn't do anything in the Default Domain section. I've tried both username and DOMAIN\username but neither work. The password is 10 characters.

We did nothing with the Default Domain section. We have tried Domain\Username and Username but neither work. The password we use has to be minimum 8-characters in the AD.

We haven't touched the Default Domain. We have tried logging in with DOMAIN\username and just username but nothing works with AD. We are required to have at least 8-characters with our domain passwords.

Also, DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/Login.ascx is the Login Control Source in the DNN ActiveDirectoryAuthentication. Is that correct?
