@Jason:

Can you please provide information AspNetSqlMembershipProvider setting in web.config. I am interested in passwordFormat value. Is it set as Hashed. I have a feeling there won't be any error it's set as Clear (not recommended) or Encrypted (DNN default).

The issue has been resolved in the core framework and is going to be part of 6.1.1 (tentatively due in late November 2011)

I've been trying to find the code you're referring to, but can't seem to find it.
Could you please tell me in which file this code is located?
