Andrew, it sounds like you're having a different problem than Francisco is having. In his case his users aren't getting redirected to WindowsSignin.aspx. In yours it sounds like everyone is. You don't want that because if the user isn't part of your domain they'll get a 500 error. Where are you typing your domain btw? In the popup box or somewhere else?

Hi,

We have some news...
I managed to find out why the user wasn't redirected to the authentication provider: someone had installed another login module (not the core DNN's) As soon as I uninstalled it and set the default login module, we get the authentication provider working.
But we still hava an issue... In the first two or three days we log in manually, but the automatic login only worked sometimes (we had configured the IP ranks for automatic login). Suddenly, the portal has began to ask for credentials with a system popup: if we hit escape we get an error "Cannot find http://mydomain/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx." We haven't touched the IIS configuration.

Any idea?
Thank you very much,
Francisco

Francisco, that sounds like the site isn't in either the Trusted Sites or the Intranet Sites list. That can be pushed out to the domain computers using group policy.

Yes, that's right for the domain computers, but how can we get the "external" computers (from anywhere in the internet) to reach the web portal, anonymously, without finding the credentials popup?

Check the Site Log for the site (you want the Detailed Site Log) and see what IPs the external and internal visits are showing up as. We had an appliance on our network here at work installed by our network guys that messed with how IPs were registering with when I first deployed the provider. Perhaps something similar is on your network.
