I have another question on the configuration of the DNN_ActiveDirectory provider.

Again we are on DNN 06.02.00 (1610) and on windows 2008 r2.

This is an intranet application, of coarse and I have the module configured for autologin and that works beautifully!  The behaviour we are seeing is that if you log out, you are unable to log back in.  The use case the user provided to us, is the following:  They have some users that login to the network with a generic account and would need access to the site with a different account.

So, it seems like based on my configuration with the autologin piece in place, you can get logged automatically, however if you logout, you are unable to log back in.

What do you mean they can't get logged back in. Do you mean they get an error when they try to manually login or just that when they logout it doesn't immediately log them back in? if they're manually logging in are they selecting the Windows Login and are they entering their username as DOMAIN\Username (unless you've set it up with the default domain in the settings)?

Well, in my testing you try to login and get login failed.
I do not have a default domain set up so you do have to login entering your username like:

domainname\username

Alos, the [WIndows][Standard] buttons on the top of the page seem to do nothing.   I try to click them and can not get the second one to activate.

So to answer your questions, 1) attempting to login as the domain user, with the prefix of the domain name- login fails.  Trying to change login mode on the login screen, the second button seems in accessible.

Aside from the login failed, I am not seeing any errors being raised.

Hmm depending on your skin you may not see a radical change. About the most you see "Remember Login" should disappear (that means you're on the Windows Login.

Is this an intranet only site?

One other thing.... how long in general are your passwords?

I feel a little silly.  Let me explain.  I am working over the worst remote access in the entire world.  Sometimes the screen will freeze up for up to a minute while i am trying to work,  It is the only way the client gave us access so it is what it is.  Any rate, in testing again, using the new info that you gave me about the remember me going away when you are in windows mode, i clicked the button waited almost a minute and tada, the windows button became dark grey (the selected color) and as you predicted, the remember me checkbox disappeared.  At this point, i logged in using my domain\username + password and tada.... i logged back in!

Thanks so much for your help Mike.  If you would have not pointed out that visual cue about remember me going away, i would have just assumed that I had somehow misconfigured something in the AD provider.  Looking at this now, based on my test results, i am 99% sure that the client is probably failing to prefix witth the domain!

THanks agian!  You were a huge help!!!

Brian
