A problem has recently cropped up in my DNN 5.02.03 installation running my company's Intranet - the AD Authentication module I'm using (5.0.2) DOES authenticate the AD user automatically (open the browser - user's name appears at the top...), however if I hit 'logoff' and then try to use the Windows Login button (put in domainname\user and password), login fails.

I've made no changes to DNN for a long time and this has always worked. But it has inexplicably stopped working. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks

My first reaction is to ask "How long is your password?" By default DNN looks for 7 characters for the password. This used to catch me all the time when I would update the core.

AD password is minimum 8 characters, but that has never been a problem. No changes have been made on my DNN server recently - this just started happening for no reason I can see.

Not sure what to say Gary. I can't think of a reason it would start happening either. Sorry. :(

In order to see if an upgrade will take care of this I've copied my production site over to a test site, upgraded the DNN framework from 5.2.3 to 6.2.7 and downloaded the AD Auth. Provider v. 5.0.5.

I haven't done this in a while, but I can't find how you upgrade the Auth. Provider - the Extensions page shows the current provider but doesn't show that there's an upgrade available so there's nothing to click on to upgrade. And I can't find any other way. How is this done?

Thanks
