First of I'd like to say I didn't mean to stir something up! I really did not mean to offend anyone by starting this saga.

However, here's my two cents... as I originally indicated on my first post (I apologize if it is just me but..) it seem to me that the blog is about the Forum module and that is confusing. Since that situation has been explained to me I understand now, however, may I sugest that each project have its own blog, not the project owners blog showing up on all his projects? Or if it is the project owners blog, the just the category for that project?

Additionally, can there be a project status page (or at least a paragraph at top of the page) indicating the current status of the project as well as the latest production module version. It just seem to me when some projects tapper off for a bit, that those pages tend to become harder to understand their current status and exactly what they are about.

You guys have to understand as well that I have not been around here that long, so these are my observations as a new user. The only reason I know that this version is beta is from this post! No where on the SourceForge.net download page or on the project page does it say that .12 is beta.

I have a few projects I am trying to complete, however, once those are done I intend on making myself available for a project or two. That is why i signed up for the benefactor program in the first place...to further this product as a whole. I started a new project with 4.5 this past weekend and I really like the new features and new interface! I have been playing with DNN off and on since 3.x or something and I can't believe how much progress it has made.

Again, I really did not mean to offend anyone or get anything started, but I would like to see this project back on track and I am willing to get involved.

You don't have to apologize for anything.  You did not offend anyone.  I took advantage of your questions, which are very common given the state of affairs of the Gallery module, to raise awareness to the fact that the Gallery module has been neglected and that there are no communications from the dev team to the community.  I don't know if it will make any difference.

The thing about the Gallery module blog you noticed is because there is nothing in it.  There used to be some posts from a year ago and they disappeared.  That has been exactly the point of my messages.

I also want to see the project back on track and have the Gallery module out of eternal Beta state.

No sweetm,  you did nothing wrong at all.  I kind of agree with you that things on the site could be arranged a little bit better.  There are some thing I know are here but can't find anymore.  ;)  It's getting better and better though.  All the people that are responsible for this site are generally also trying to get the next version out.  When that slows down navigation gets better.  :)

The Gallery is getting back on track.  We have a testing site up and are working through the architecture now.  Chris has some great tools that take a lot of the grunt work out of the picture so I'm feeling really confident.  If you have any ideas on what a Gallery means to you post them so we know what to code for you guys.  What would make a great Gallery?  Don't limit it.  ;)

I think the module is great! I've been using .12 for a while in production because well...didn't know like I said...anyway the only thing I don't really understand about it is how to skin it. But, I have not really tried to figure it out so, if there is documentation or any information posted then great I just haven't seen it and I'm sure I will.

You guys have done a great job. Thanks!

Yeah you can't really call it skining for the Gallery.  It's more like what you do to create a custom container.  Under DesktopModules / Gallery there is a directory called Themes.  The three directories in there are all the graphics and a css file that you can modify to get it to look the way you want.

If you want to change the table layouts you have to change the view controls.
