Hi,

I love the Gallery module. It works wonders for my pictures and even displays my video files without problem. My only concern is that when you load a video file into the gallery module, it is displayed as a standard windows media logo. I'm sure this is because there is no image to display and that is the icon for the type of file that it is. So I was curious if there was a away to make the gallery module display a custom thumbnail instead of the default windows media icon. This way when people open my video gallery they could actually see a thumbnail snapshot from each of the videos as opposed to all of the video files displaying as generic media player icons.

Creating the actual thumbnail image is easy, I just can't seem to find a way to make the gallery module use it as a thumbnail for a particular file.

Any ideas?

I assume that this may not be possible to do. If that is the case, can someone atleast verify for me that this isn't possible? Otherwise I'm going to have to assume it is possible and no one knows how to do it... hehe. Thanks again for the help.

sorry. nope.  You can create an icon for the album, but you can't change the icon for any images/videos.

Thanks for the info James, changing the Album's Icon would be sufficient for what I would like to do. How do you change the icon for a particular gallery? I understand you can add and image to the gallery and it will automatically use that image's thumbnail as the album icon. But is there a way to specify an Icon for the album without actually adding a full size image to that album?

add an image into the album called "icon" or "ICON"? and that file will not be displayed in the gallery, but will be used as the thumbnail for the album.
