I was having the same problem.  I tried what you said and it worked.

I tried it, and I was able to get the Maintenance working, but after the synch I have nothing left:( no pictures in the gallery at all. I can see them in the \portals dir, but they won't show up in the Gallery.

Well, after a reboot of the server, and numerous attempts to "synch" I finally have the gallery and pics back, but thumbs aren't showing for everything. Time to figure out how to fix that one:(

I did have the same problem right at the beginning.  What I did was I went to the file manager and deleted all the files in each album except for the actual main pictures.  This includes the XML files and the 2 sub directories.  then I closed the page and reloaded it.  After re-syncing (select all) everything woks again.  Still missing the download to registered users though.

After doing that, you have to reenter all the data again correct?
