Create a role called something like "Blogger". If you want everyone who registers to belong to that role then set the role to "Auto-Assign", otherwise assign it manually as required.

Then go to your blog module page. Go the the module settings of the module titled "New_Blog Module" and tick the box in the Edit column next to the new Blogger role. This give users in that role edit rights for the module.

Do the same for the module titled "Most recent Blog entries". Now they can create their own blogs.

This is how you provide module edit rights for any DNN module to any role.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Rob,

I have the same 'problem'. I already added a new role called 'Blogger'. They have the right to see and edit the blog module. But when I login with a 'blogger' user, I don't see the link 'Add blog entry'. I only see 'Create my blog' in the new_blog module. How can i make it possible that the 'blogger' users can post entries in the blogs (and childblogs) I created (as superuser).

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

That's pretty much the way the Blog module is designed. The module supports multiple authors, but each author can only post to their own blog. In this sense it is strictly for publishing 'personal web logs'. If you require multiple authors/contributors for a singular display of categorised articles, you have to look at another module such as Ventrian News Articles. This is the point of distinction between this module and others that seem similar.

Hope that makes sense
Rob

Ok, there are 2 issues here.

The first one, is simple, create a Role called "bloggers" (just as wissink did) and assign that role Edit permissions to the Blog "menu" module (the one that has the links to create and add andblog entries etc). Now users in the Bloggers role can create their blogs.

The second issue is that the Blog is PERSONAL. ONLY the owner of the Blog can post on his/her blog. Even if you give SuperUser access you will not be able to do that. This is by design.

Hope this helps.
