Hi there

Ihave a problem with the blog on a client site of mine.

Our database server crashed (we were running sql 2000) - as a fix, we restored a backup copy of the database to an instance of sql express on our webserver.

The whole site runs perfectly (logins all work, content that was there is still all there and so on) with the exception of the blog page. When I access the blog page, I get errors, all of which seem to contain this line : DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

I am assuming the problem has been generated by the fact that the database is now a sql express database and not sql 2000 but can't understand why the rest fo teh site works fine, but not the blog ...

I tried updating the blog module (previous version was 3.03 - have upgraded it to 3.04) but the error still persists.

Also, if I try and add the blog to any other page in the site, I get the same error.

Please can someone help me with this urgently.

Thanks in advance :)

Hmmm...  If the rest of the site works, I would venture to guess that you are using DNN v4.x, and your current version of the Blog Module might be using the old database connection string method.  Check the SiteSqlServer setting in the AppSettings section of your web.config.  Make sure that the connection string matches the connection string in your ConnectionString section.

Hi

I am using DNN v. 04.04.00

My SiteSqlServer settings under appsettings and connectionstrings are identical, but the blog still won't work ?

Any other ideas ? I have looked at the DB, and the blog posts are all there - the module just doesn't want to connect for some reason ...

That is indeed interesting.  Do you see any other signs of the module working?  You obviously do not see the blog entries, but do you see other editing tools in place?  Can you go to the "Add Blog Entry" page?

Hi there

Sorry I haven't replied sooner - been away.

To answer your question, no - no other part of the blog module is accessible either - all of the controls give the same error.

Thanks again for the assist so far.
