Hi All,

I have been a software developer in the "Microsoft Camp" (i.e. VB, ASP, C#, SQL Server ... etc) for the past 8 years. Recently I worked on a project that involved dotnetnuke, and I started to explore the way this framework is architected. I downloaded the source code, went over high level design documents, tried to understand the overall architecture of the system. I've found the system is well designed, and I want to learn more, because I'm interested ...

However, the system is very large. It's impossible to understand everything in this system. I felt like I was not going anywhere, but yet, I want to learn more. So I think it's the best for me to start by helping to fix a problem. I went to Gemini (http://support.dotnetnuke.com), and there are lots of open cases (for the core framework) over there, don't really know which one to tackle. Then I picked a smaller project, it is the "Forum Module", but this module seem to be maintained by a small team, not much outstanding issues for this project, so I guess I won't be much of a help.

I'm just not so sure which project I should start working on, which bug I should start patching, or which person I should start talking to. Can anyone here give me some pointers?

Many Thanks!

Simon

Thanks Simon, thats a great offer!

I brought this thread to the attention of project team leaders. I know of at least one project looking for team members (the events module), but i'm sure other projects are looking for members as well, so i hope you get quite some response to this :) Also, you can always contact me directly on support@apollo-software.nl (also by msn), if you want to know some more about how projects are run etc.

Cheers,
