Following the instructions to the letter(s), I eventually browsed to the install folder and install.aspx?mode=install and I get the following in my browser window:

<%@ Page CodeBehind="Install.aspx.vb" language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Explicit="True" Inherits="DotNetNuke.Framework.Install" %>
Any ideas, I'm bushed.
cheers

do you have .NET setup at all? The only reason the webserver will ever show code is if the .NET framework is not available

.net Framework 1.1 is installed.

I trust I've done this correctly:

After extracting the dnn files to d:\inetpub\www.root\dotnetnuke and altering web.config and creating a new database in sql called dotnetnuke and reset permissions as instructed in the install guide I typed into ie7 'http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Install/Install.aspx?mode=install' and I got the response as above.

Any other clues

cheers

I still think the problem is in your ASP.Net installation. Also.. what dnn version are you using. For dnn 4.x you need ASP.NET 2.0

Maybe this article will help as well: http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/ASP.NET/Setting-Up-Internet-Information-Services-and-ASPNET/

Thanks Eric,

I've installed DNN 3.3.7 so .net 1.1 should run on it fine.

I'm working my way through your suggested article and so far I've done all the right things.

Any other suggestions - maybe something really simple like an IE setting?

BTW, My inetpub folder is not on my primary drive, but on D: for space reasons; is that an issue?

thanks
