Hi

I think we've spent too much time already trying to solve the logout problems we've had with our current US hosting providers, Brinkster.

So... we're now looking for a new Host provider - preferably one in the UK since that is where most of our traffic comes from.

Does anyone have any recommendations of UK hosting providers that they have used who offer excellent ASP.NET 2.0 support with SQL Server 2000 (or 2005) and where you've successfully installed and operated a DotNetNuke site?

Does anyone have any nightmare stories - any advice of hosting providers to avoid?

Thanks for any recommendations offered!

Hello

Thought I'd try this again with a less general question...

We're about to go with either:

  • 1&1
  • Fasthosts

Does anyone have any specific glory or horror stories for either of these hosters?

Thanks!

Hi Slodge

I tried 1and1 but have quite a few non dnn 1.1 .net sites and on 1and1 you can only set asp.net on a global basis, IE for all sites in that plan.

I found Redfoxhosting. www.redfoxhosting.com
Fantastic technical service, very low cost, fast servers inside RedBus in london.
I have about 10 dnn sites hosted here and a couple of clients signed up to their own reseller packages.
I use host tracker to monitor uptime and its very good.

They use Helm as the user management console - excellent.

The only problem is that for DNN you need to comment out the events queue in global.vb as the way RFH is set up means that this causes a minor problem at install time.  This takes 2 minutes fo fix / workaround and it does NOT affect anything else.

I am very happy here.
I am more than happy to help any DNNer using them.

Last point: Its not a year long contract so you could sign on for a month and check it out.

I think you will be very impressed.

Ian

Ian,

I joined RedFox recently. I have 1 or 2 questions for you.
What is your username on RedFox forums?
