i'm guessing you're running dnn 4.x, in which case it's an asp.net 2.0 problem. I blogged the workaround here http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/BlogsDotNetNuke/tabid/825/EntryID/233/Default.aspx

I did as suggested in the blog and edited my web.config file to:

    <!-- Forms or Windows authentication sets the cookie for 24 hrs (60 min X 24 hour  = 1440)-->
    <authentication mode="Forms">
      <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="1440" cookieless="UseCookies" />
    </authentication>

When I log in, I check the box to remember Login but upon logging out and returning to the login, it remembers the username only, not the password. Is this how it is supposed to work or am I missing something. I was hoping it would remember the password as well, like it happens on most other sites.

Thanks in advance for any comments

If you explicitly Logout, then the Auth cookie is deleted.

If you want it to remember you, then do not log out, just browse to another site or close your browser.

Thanks for the insight John.

What I would like to do is mimick the login functionality I see on sites like hotmail, yahoo, or gmail, where I can check a box to 'Remember Me' while logging in. If I return in a day or a week, as soon as my username is entered my password is autofilled in password mode. That is what I thought would happen with the DNN login.

BTW, where can I find the login component? I looked at admin/skins/login.ascx but I do not see any buttons or text fields... where are they? How can I see the logic/event handler for the submit button in the login module?

Thanks again in advance for any help.
