I'm not sure if I'm missing the point of admin skins or not...

I've created a site that places the content area in a DIV that calls for a fixed height and width.  It's pretty, and everything is fine...

However, when I log into the admin area, certain elements (like the HTML editor) require massive scrolling.  Annoying!

So my solution is to use the regular DNN Blue skin as my admin skin, and use my pretty skin for regular users.  However, I seem unable to do this.  Whenever I try to change the skin for just the admin portal, DNN applies the skin to the regular portal as well.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I completely misunderstand the concept of the admin skin feature?

...If so, are there any other ways to "override" my height and width div tags ONLY when in admin mode?

Thanks!

-Jen

Your portal skin renders your normal pages.

Admin skins is for all edit scenarios, it is not only the admin pages, it is used while editing contetn, answering post inside the forum, detail views, settings etc.

Your admin skin and your default skin should look familar, noramlly you are going to have just a single content pane and only few elements to provide enough room for the editing controls.

I am sure I'm missing the point of having an admin skin!

Is it so that I know:

  1. I am working in an admin only page or module when I see a different skin.
  2. I am logged into an admin account when I see a different skin.
  3. Some totally different reason.
