Hello Everyone!

I have a question about search engine optimization in DNN.

I know Google rates sites depending on how many relevant keywords they have in a particular page (among other criteria).

  1. I was wondering if the titles of the containers count as keywords (I suspect they do).
  2. What happens if the container is not displayed? (invisible container)  Does it count too?

I hope my question was clear :)

Thank you in advance for your time.

Mk

If you want your Titles of containers to count, then you should display them with H1, H2, H3, etc. tags, otherwise the words in those titles will not count any different than other words on the page.

Hi John!

Thank you for your help.  One more silly question just to confirm.  Will the keywords cound even if the containner is invisible (the title is invisible too). I unchecked the option that says "Display Container?"

Thanks

Mk

No the keywords in the title of the module will not be displayed if you turn off the container.  Using this option actually causes DNN to use a different container that does not render the title into the page so the spider will not see it.

It is worth remembering that Google places a high value on the pages title so keywords here are important too.
