Hi
I tried turn off compression and other settings proposed in this thread. But no success. The solution for me was to delete all the temp-files of  the browser (found tipp here: http://www.ventrian.com/Support/ProductForums/tabid/118/forumid/16/postid/17286/view/topic/Default.aspx). Now the portal is running again.
Regards Nicolo

This appears to have worked for me also, first I made all the setting changes in DNN then I closed my browser, restarted my browser, cleared Temporary Internet Files, closed and restarted my browser, logged into DNN used the "clear cache" link under performance settings and then restarted the application from the link on the host settings page.

Here are my settings:

Performance:
Page State Pers.:                      Page
Module Caching:                        Disk
Performance Setting:                  Moderate Caching
Authenticated Cacheability:        ServerAndNoCache
Compression Setting:                 GZip Compression
Compression Level:                    None
Use Whitespace Filter:               True

Compression:
Exclude Mime Types
image/gif
image/jpeg
application/zip
application/x-zip-compressed
application/x-gzip-compressed
application/x-compressed
application/octet-stream
application/pdf

Exclude Paths
install/install.aspx
linkclick.aspx
webresource.axd
imagechallenge.captcha.aspx

My 2c- after fighting the same issues as all, I switched to Memory and memory, Gzip compression and copied the Compression.config from the config dir to make sure I got all the new install values and then cleared the IE7 temp objects and  now it is all working with compression on. Thanks for all the tips (esp. you John ;)

I'm having similar problems but I don't think it is caused by compression.

I upgraded from 4.3.5 directly to 4.4.1.  So compression was never turned on and still is not turned on.

For one module, if I go into Module Settings, it breaks any links using __doPostBack.  Other modules and pages don't seem to have the issue.

I've gone through all of suggestions in this thread.  Most were already in place since I skipped the 4.4.0 upgrade.

Any other suggestions?

I would look closely at the page source when you are in module settings for that module.  There may be another <form> tag slipped in there somehow.
