The same problem occurs in the Links Module. When I try to add a link I get the same postback error.

Oh well... time to restore back to 440

Here's my situation, the only 'fix' I wanted from 4.4.1 was the Print & XML icon visibility (without having to expose the Action menu). If I could get the code changes made to achieve this, I'd be happy to build my on solution.

But it clear that 4.4.1 has enough issues not to roll-out...yet.

did you try adding webresource.axd to the compression exclusions?

I can try that but would it matter once I've disabled compression altogether?hmm.. how do I add that? Do I just paste it in as-is (webresource.axd) in the Excluded Mime Types box? Does it need a type.. like application or something?

I've probably got an hour to try any fixes before I'm going to have to restore 440.

well well.. after a further while it did start working with compression disabled. I had cleared cache and restarted multiple times but it seems it just required some extra time.

So then I put webresource.axd in the paths exclusion box and restarted with compression enabled but it caused it to fail again.  So now I've disabled compression and it's still failing but I expect it will start working shortly.

Try commenting or removing the Compression module in Web.config HttpModules section.
