the anonymous users shall never have write access, only the machine user, that handles upload of files according to DNN permissions.

I message the tech support and this is what he said..

"For your folder permission, it seem you had given the write access for the user ehbIUSR_www2 to access your folder. So it will lead the security hole for another hacker to write the file to your dnn site. For this issue, i had removed that user for you. If you had any enquiry, please let us know. Thanks!"

So what user should i allow full write access?

at the moment folder permissions are not really your worry - I had a look at your site and lo and behold I could log in as Host - change the host and admin passwords otherwise some one less honest then me will have the fun of their life on your site.

 Brilliant!

I do not want to make light of security issues at any time whatsoever but...

After completing my first upgrade and starting on the road of learning to write my custom skin, doing the graphics etc...this was the comic relief I needed!

FYI: I'm about to check in an enhancement that will prompt admin/host users to change their passwords if they're using the defaults when they login, as per a request of one of our benefactors. In addition, we're overhauling the installation screen to prompt users to supply stronger admin and host passwords, to stop installations with known defaults. Hopefully both of these measures will ensure incidents like this become a thing of the past.
