Hi I am facing a unique problem. I have a site 16ndriving.com its in asp.net 2.0 and menus are created in flash by a designer i am not in touch with. Also i don't know the flash.

Know i tried out creating a skin file. It i was able to create skin file in which i can use the prebuild menu. But as i click on any of the links like product option it shows me wierd url which is of the skin directory.

I have no way to modify the menu links. Can anybody suggest what to do in this case.

Also, In case i have way to modify the menus how to set the new urls do i need to set like ~/sitename/products.aspx ... or something else

please help

Other than Erik's suggestion, You probably have the Flash source file somewhere,

you cold open it in Flash by Macromedia/Adobe and change the links to correct links. Then export the flash to the same name as it exists in your skin pack

replace the swf file and upload the skin.

If you dont have flash, I think Adobe allows you to use flash for a 15 day or 30 day period and you may like it so much to go and purchase it. :)

Since there seems no real reson why this menu should be in flash, you could also have somebody recreate the menu in HTML (if you cannot contact the creator of the flash menu).
Another workaround cold be this:
Create all the files the menu links to (in the root of DNN) and put a redirect in these aspx files to the right dnn pages, it's a hack , but it should work...

Timo has the best approach for a quick solution but you can also just get the menu created like here - http://www.cds-net.com

In dreamweaver, without any flash knowledge you can also create some flash buttons - If you have a complex menu, what I would be suggesting is to log in to your site and putting in something like the inventua top menu - so it can display the menu elements as links so people can at least navigate.

There are quite a few sites that runn elements of flash and dnn and hard coded menus are not uncommon for sites that have either few pages or multil level menus

http://www.zinc.com.au and http://scarab.zinc.com.au show how flash and DNN can work well and if you are stuck with no menu - getting one made up as Timo suggested will immediately help you get out of your situation.

It's very frustrating when you don't have the source of your files and it's quite annoying when I read people doing this to their customers.. It shouldn't be so hard for you to resolve.
