Hi,
    I am developing a portfolio module and need to get the current user id from dotnetnuke and compare it with the user id of the author of the current portfolio being viewed. This is in order to set the edit/delete permissions on the detailsview control which is displaying the selected portfolio. This is probably really simple to do but I am new to DNN and could use some help.

As your module control will inherit DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.PortalModuleBase or your own base class that itself will inherit PortalModuleBase, the properties UserID and UserInfo containing the id and other information about the currently logged in user will be available to you.
