Hi all,

I've been struggling to get 4.x to install and run on Windows Server 2003 R2. Can anyone point to a clean, updated set of instructions for accomplishing this? I would trade half of the modules the DNN team is working on for an easier installation process.

Regards, Seth

Here's what I did to finally get this working. I have no idea if all of these steps are required or not.

1. Extracted DNN install ZIP to C:\DOTNETNUKE_BUILD\.
2. Modified file sharing and security on the folder to give both the ASPNET user and Everyone Full Access to the folder.
3. Enabled Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options > Network Access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users.
4. Created the virtual directory in IIS.

I navigated to http://localhost/<site> and everything worked like a charm.
