Hola,

I've inherited a server that seems to be running DNN. I was wondering what the file dotnetnuke_log.ldf is and why it's so large.

I apologise for posting to this forum, but there doesn't seem to be any other obvious forum to post it into and a google and local site search has turned up no information.

My dotnetnuke_log.ldf is 2.4 Gigs at the moment. I'd really like to get that HD space back!

cheers
L.

I had the same problem as you.  The ldf file is the log file for your database and mine got to 18Gb.

Here are the steps I followed to shrink that :

1. Open Sql Server Enterprise
2. Change the recovery model of your db from Full to Simple.  Read that article to learn about the impacts of such a change.
3. You can then select the 'Shrink Database' - 'Shrink File' option.
4. Select your log file.
5. Select the following option : 'Compress pages and then truncate free space from the file'.
6. Click ok and it you should do the trick.
