I am trying to rename the Install directory of DotNetNuke from http://server/DotNetNuke to http://server/county .  How do I got about doing so?  I tried to rename the folder but it says access is denied. Do I need to create a new folder called 'county', copy over the entire DotNetNuke folder, and create a virtual directory is IIS with the same security settings as the DotNetNuke virtual directory?  Thanks very much in advance!

Not sure why you would recieve "access denied" unless you don't have full rights to the local machine.  Also, creating a new folder and trying to copy over the contents of the original could prove troubling if you can't even rename the original folder.  I have found that when moving/copying my DNN install, it is a good measure to exit all apps and restart the machine.  This prevents problems when copying the database.

Thats why I thought it was odd because I could rename any other directory on the server other than DotNetNuke.  Anyways, I did create a new folder/virtual directory/set permissions and copied all the files in the original DotNetNuke folder to this new folder, 'county'.  I also added an alias in DNN for this new folder.  Surprisingly it all worked!  So I guess that is the process if anyone out there is seeking to rename their root install directory.  Just wanted to mention, DNN at my location is on a remote server as well as SQL Server, they are all on seperate machines.
