Hi all,

I am planning to upgrade from 4.3.5 to 4.4.1 but noticed that there is no mention of this type of upgrade in the installation documentation.  Can anyone kindly advise me on the steps?  I would like to keep my current portals' settings and pages if that is possible.

The upgrade process is very simple!

1.  Backup your site and your database!
2.  Download the upgrade version of DNN 4.4.1
3.  Unzip this over your current DNN installation.  (if on a hosting provider, you might want to put an app_offline.htm file to show an under construction message)
4.  Rename your current web.config to web.config.old
5.  Rename the release.config file to web.config
6.  Merge any changed elements from your web.config.old file into your new file.  (Don't forget the SQL Connections, Machine and validation keys, installDate, and any other custom sections!)
7.  Now browse to install.aspx and the upgrade will begin!

That should do it!  I am working on a blog article about this process!
