have a look into your database.

If you set a value for objectQualifier other than "" in the SqlDataProvider section of your web.config, all names of objects in your database (tables, views, sprocs) are preceeded by this string.

All the user tables I see have the usual dbo.TableName but I do not see a dbo.PortalSettings in the User Tables. I've tried searching using the Object Browser in SQL Query Analyzer and creating an Access project linked to the database but no luck. Is it possible for the table to disappear and for the Web to still function?

I think I'm misunderstanding something or just not seeing what I'm supposed to. The web.config file looks okay, I've logged into the Query Anaylzer as the dotnetnuke user and as sa. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help...

I've also tried using the following T/SQL:
Declare @UserName NVarChar(255)
Declare @NewPassword NVarChar(255)
Declare @PasswordSalt NVarChar(128)
Declare @Application NVarChar(255)

-- Enter the user name and new password between ''
-- do not leave any spaces unless intended to do so.
-- Edit only between single quote characters
Set @UserName = 'host' -- This default DNN host user
Set @NewPassword = 'newpassword' --New password
-- Do modify any code below this line

Set @Application = (SELECT [ApplicationID] FROM aspnet_Users WHERE UserName=@UserName)
Set @PasswordSalt = (SELECT PasswordSalt FROM aspnet_Membership WHERE UserID IN (SELECT UserID FROM aspnet_Users WHERE UserName=@UserName))

Exec dbo.aspnet_Membership_ResetPassword @Application, @UserName, @NewPassword, 10, 10, @PasswordSalt, -5

Checking the aspnet_Membership table showed no change. I think something is wrong with my database since this was done in Query Analyzer and the results showed 2 rows affected yet no change in the Password or PasswordSalt columns. My backups of the database have been no help either.

portal settings are currently stored in columns of the portals table.
