1) I have installed the latest version of DNN.

2) I am running it on a windows 2000 server on my LAN, intending to use it as an intranet system

3) It runs on the server, i can logon and change whatever I want

4) type http://servername/dotnetnuke into the browser on a PC and the address gets changed to http://localhost/dotnetnuke and the browser displays a page saying 'The page cannot be found' which of course it cannot as the DNN stuff is on my server not my PC!?!

5) what do I need to change on my server so that it serves the page to remote browsers properly?

6) why is such a simple thing so damn hard to get an answer too?

7) thanks for reading this, I hope you can help me with some suggestions

Hi there,

Did you add your dns as an alias for your portal?

Simply go in Site Settings and at the bottom, add your alias:

servername/dotnetnuke

That should work after that
