I actually noticed this when dotnetnuke.com upgraded to 4.4.1, it is one of those little things that annoys the %#@& out of me (since it was working before). But when you go to the Login dialog in 4.4.1 your curson no longer defaults to the Username field.

Is it too much to ask to fix this and repackage 4.4.1? Or just publish that file by itself?

Thanks.

Carlos

Yes, I do have the same concern.

It will be rectified on the next build.
If you wish to have the bug removed earlier, then considering paying and becoming a benefactor so you can have access to the build earlier.

Until then I suggest you hide the very annoying login module for administrators only, and then bring it back online when the next build comes out and you've upgraded it.

Nina:

I can tell from the tone of your message that my message could be taken the wrong way. The way I wrote it was a very poor attempt to be funny (in a sarcastic kind of way). For this I apologize. If you review my posts you will see that I’m an advocate/evangelist for DNN and that I try to contribute to the community as much as possible within my time constraints.

Now, going back to the simple issue of setting the focus on the login form. I have been fixing that myself in my installations since DNN version 1.0.10 I believe. Along the way, and it took a long time for this to be included in the core, it was finally fixed in the DNN distributions. That is, until 4.4.1 when it was undone. Now, I develop software myself and maybe the point that I was trying to make is that this should have been caught in testing as features that were working before should not be broken/undone with new releases unless there is a very good reason for it. It is just a development principle.

And the reason why this annoys me a little is because I’m doing development of a module for authenticated users only, therefore, every time I compile and do testing I have to login. When the cursor is not there I have to use the mouse, which I avoid because I like to navigate using just the keyboard. And for this I don’t like to use the “Remember me” feature to avoid unforeseen problems. Maybe that is why this was not caught during the core testing in the first place, the tester(s) did not have to login manually.

Again, not a big deal, I will not attempt to use humor/sarcasms in my posts again.

Oh goodness me no Carlos - I was also making an attempt at being sarcastic/humorous - I have a list of annoyances that bug me that shouldn't be there..

And.. your comment on testers... well, we won't go there, so it appears my sarcasm was taken the wrong way...  Here's what I'm seeing a pattern of... "fix one thing.. break another"

*sigh* .. I'm not very good at 'sarcasm'  I try but it never works out so well. I am your friend. I'm glad you brought this up... and next time I will be 'direct' instead of my very poor attempt of being 'sarcastic and funny'.

So please accept my sincere apologies Carlos for giving the wrong impression... I could not fault a single word you said and I agree with you 100%.
