I have been reading the password messages and it seems that DNN will not update the AD password.  I would like to see this added. The whole idea with AD is to have a signle point of authintication. When the users change their passwords it should effect the domain login, so when they go to Exchange or some other program pointing to the same domain the password they changed on one changes it for all.

Also when they put in their domain ID they should not have to prefix it with the domain name\id   is there a way to always append the domain name so they only have to put their id?

Thanks

1.  I don't think you will ever see a web application outside of something like Outlook Web Access that will change an AD account in any way.  DNN merely authenticated against the domain, it does not modify it, and I really doubt that the core team will ever allow any code to do this.  This is for security purposes, and well justified.

2.  I think there is a way to pre-pend the the domain name, search around the forums a bit.  Hopefully, when the project team gets moving again that will be one of the first major changes in this module.

I agree with Dan on the password part. It could be done though as there is portal software out there that does allow you to change your password but those are using definitely using SSL and possibly other technologies.

There are script examples on the forum showing what to change/add. If you can't find it let me know and I'll repost it.
