Chris, I posted this question to your blog just now but perhaps it's also worth posting to the forum.

I've held off putting a Wiki into production because I wasn't sure about the upgrade path from either the DNN beta Wiki or the Ktomics Wiki. Heck, I wasn't even sure there WOULD be an upgrade path that was reasonably attainable). For my colleagues who have one of these Wikis, I was glad to hear that there will be a documented upgrade procedure.

Anyway, since I'm going to install from the upcoming release, can you clarify a couple of things?

1. Is the upcoming release a full release, or a beta?

2. If I put the upcoming release into production, is it safe to assume that future releases will build on this release and that further releases will be just a matter of installing them per the usual DNN procedure?

Thanks!
Steve

I am also curious because I have deployed the beta into a production environment and for the most part it is working ok but doesn't have the features like the new module will.

I am hoping there will be an upgrade path as we have always seen in previous DNN versions and modules, even if there are a few manual steps involved.

Thanks.

Steve, this next release will not be labeled a "BETA".

It will from the point of this upcoming release on, follow the standard DNN module upgrade process, supporting the ability to upload the PA as a Host and having DNN do the upgrade steps required.

Due to time and other oddities we won't support that upgrade path from the previously released "beta" to the new release, but as the blog post said, we're going to do our best to provide documentation/sql scripts to perform the upgrades manually.
