Thanks again for your reply. My logging and caching configurations are shown below. It is just the default setting, I did not play with them as far as I know. Any more ideas?

I figured it out.

When I created the project with VS.NET, by default it created the project in C:\Documents and Settings\fkaesser\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites\....

The error message in the log says: Message: System.IO.PathTooLongException: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. ...

Essentially, every time I browsed from one page to another, the path to the tab was too long.

I moved the project\website to just c:\DNN_ProjectName and voilah, the exceptions ceased.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and interest.

I'm wondering what else is trying to write to disk using the FBCachingProvider other than the Module caching. 
If that was set to memory, then something else was causing the path too long error.

I'll have a look in the code to see if I can figure that one out.
