No problem Jeff,

After an upgrade of your portal, the blog upgrade should work without any problems.

Upgrade went great! Thanks! But, here is an issue I'm still having (prior to upgrade and after) with the way the RSS feeds work with the XML/XSL module on other sections of the site... Maybe this should be a different post?

(and - my apologies if this issue is resolved in another post - I looked around but couldn't find anything)

Anyway, here's what happens:
- I create an XML/XSL module on another section of the site
- I grab the RSS feed link from the Blog "Most Recent blog entries" and use it and apply a very basic local stylesheet...

When trying to view it, I get this exception:

Error: Latest Updates is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: This is an unexpected token. The expected token is 'WHITESPACE'. Line 2, position 62. ---> System.Xml.XmlException: This is an unexpected token. The expected token is 'WHITESPACE'. Line 2, position 62. at System.Xml.Schema.DtdParser.SkipWhitespace(Boolean fRequired) at System.Xml.Schema.DtdParser.ParseExternalID() at System.Xml.Schema.DtdParser.ParseDocTypeDecl() at System.Xml.Schema.DtdParser.Parse() at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseDtd(XmlScanner scanner) at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseTag() at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.ParseRoot() at System.Xml.XmlTextReader.Read() at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadCurrentNode() at System.Xml.XmlLoader.LoadDocSequence(XmlDocument parentDoc) at System.Xml.XmlLoader.Load(XmlDocument doc, XmlReader reader, Boolean preserveWhitespace) at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(XmlReader reader) at DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.XmlUtils.GetXMLContent(String ContentUrl) at DotNetNuke.Modules.XML.XmlModule.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I'm sure this is a very basic thing to fix. I've checked everything I can think of but cannot figure it out.

thanks! - Jeff

Try to use the newsfeed (rss) module, I have included some sample XSL templates in the sub folder styles of the blod module folder.

OK - thanks for the tip. I've tried it. But, I'm still receiving the same error. In Registered User mode, I get the following error:

News Feed Is Not Available At This Time. Error message:This is an unexpected token. The expected token is 'WHITESPACE'. Line 2, position 62.

In an effort to troubleshoot other causes, I found the following post:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsProjects/tabid/795/forumid/48/threadid/5387/scope/posts/Default.aspx

I've made the web.config changes and my host provider has made the necessary adjustments to their .NET privileges. But, I'm still not having any luck.

It appears that I'm getting the "Whitespace, Line 2" with both the RSS Newsfeed Mod AND the XML/XSL Mod from any feed (have tried multiple ones) from the Blog module.

Sorry - hope I'm not missing something basic here. I am able to consume and render both DNN modules that I enable syndication on as well as external sources. So... it only seems to be happening with the Blog module. I love the module and functionality.   I just need to be able to use the XML feeds as well.

Any suggestions/tips would be great.

Thanks! - Jeff

One idea, have a look for the page description where the blog module is located. If there is no page description please enter a description and try again.
