We noticed the same problem after switching the Doctype to XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I've no
idea if there is a workaround - but maybe this information can help you fixing your problem.

I can now confirm the above. I changed the doctype to XHTML 1.0 Transitional (via a skindoctype xml file) and sure enough it stopped working. It happens with the default Dotnetnuke skin as well. Unfortunately I need to use that doctype... Eagerly awaiting a fix.

See this logged issue for information on the fix.  Basically, you open the dnn.js file found in the js folder and make the three edits mentioned.

Thank you so much, Jon! That worked beautifully. Something so simple.

It just says to enter the following three lines in the dnn.js file.  But it doesn't say in which function... Does anyone know where in the .js file these should go?  Is this an issue in 4.5.5?
