I need to create a module that contains one textbox and one button. The user enters a zip code in the textbox and clicks the button which processes the data and does stuff. I have this working just fine. However, the problem is that if the user simply enters the zip code and hits the 'enter' key (which they are likely to do) it does not work. I believe this is because the textbox believes it belongs to the form already on the DotNetNuke page. I tried creating my own form but then got an error since I can't have more than one form on the page. Is there another workaround for this problem? I need the textbox to fire the correct event within my module when the user hits the enter key.

thanks,

russ...

I just tested this on my aspx contact page and as long as you click not in a form field but within the iframe it works.

not sure if this helps.

I found the solution so I thought I'd share it since I posted the question. The solution is to enclose the control(s) inside a panel and set the panel's defaultbutton property to the button you wish to trigger when the enter key is pressed. The ascx file looks something like this:

<asp:panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" DefaultButton="ButtonDoStuff">

  <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>

  <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="DoStuff" OnClick="Button1_Click"></asp:button>

</asp:panel>

Hopefully this will help someone else.
