hi, i have the following two errors in the log viewer under dnn 3.2.2 and would appreciate and advice on the cause and how to resolve them:

Try turning off your file syncronization task from the scheduler page and see if this error goes away? I don't remember in which version but I think there was a version in which the file syncronization called a function which got the portal (or some other information) from the httprequest which doesn't exist on a scheduled thread....

What would be the negative effects of turning off the syncronization scheduled task?

Do you update the files on a regular basis within your DotNetNuke site? You can do the syncronization manually from the File Manager menu. I'm trying to see whether when you turn it off whether your error goes away...
